Update

Sorry we haven't posted in a long time. It has been a very busy time for us. We have decided to sell our house. I didn't realize how much work would be involved in getting a house ready to show. We have found two houses we really like so we will see about buying one of them if we can sell our house. Also I decided to sub at a mother's day out where my mom and sister work. I've only worked a few days but have really enjoyed it. It's been nice to get out of the house and interact with other people. Hayden hasn't liked being in a class away from me. I think it's been hard on both of us but I know he needs to learn to interact with other kids.
Our biggest news right now is Hayden's upcoming surgery on Friday. I'd rather not go into details on here but he has a male problem that needs to be corrected. It's an outpatient surgery but he will have to be put to sleep. I'm having a really hard time with this so your prayers would be appreciated. I will try to post an update this weekend to let everyone know how it went.
I hope everyone is doing well and we hope to hear from you all.

Family update

We'll I've been a slacker on updating this blog. It has been one crazy busy fall. As most of you know I'm now a Thirty-One consultant so that has kept me real busy. I'm really enjoying it although it can be stressful at times. You can visit my website by clicking on the link to the left. Hayden is growing so fast. I can't believe he will be one in a couple of weeks. We are planning a little party for the family and he's going to have an Elmo party for his play date next week. We now have 6 teeth which have been a pain when they come in. Also he is now taking several steps on his own. This has been really exciting for us. We like getting him to walk back and forth between us. He is into everything more than ever and I know it's going to get worse. He doesn't get the word no yet or at least he acts like he doesn't. He likes carrying the remotes around the house and has managed to get them in the toilet more than once. Hayden is now eating big dinners with us. It's been fun letting him try what we are eating and he's been doing pretty well with it. Here are some pictures from the last few months:

Playing his drums. He likes to tear down the curtains to see outside.

Walking his favorite toy. Yummy, cheese ravioli

Play-time with daddy.

Beach Trip

Sorry this is so late but it's been a busy fall so far. We went to Orange Beach at the beginning of September with Amy's parents and her sister's family. We had an enjoyable time. We only made it down to the beach twice for a few minutes at a time. None of us are real beach bums but we enjoy the view from the condo. Hayden wasn't too sure about the sand and he was pretty scared of the water. We went swimming in the pool a couple of times and Hayden really enjoyed that. If you know anything about our family you know that we like to eat, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that our favorite part of the trip was eating at all the great restaurants. Chris and I were able to go on a dinner/movie date which we haven't done in a while. We went an Italian place that Chris likes and then we went to see Transformers in an empty theater. Hayden did pretty well except at night. He slept in our bed every night and woke up at 6:30 on the dot. He usually sleeps until 7:30 or 8. No one was happy about that. All in all it was a great trip with our usual family feuding. Here are some pictures:

Hayden was excited about his turtle we won him at the arcade.

This was Hayden's first time in the sand.

Fun in the pool with his cousin McKinlee.

This would have been a good picture if William would have gotten out of the way sooner.

Last day on the beach.

How 'bout them Dawgs!

Dad is happy with his Miss. State Bulldogs' victory on Saturday over Auburn 19-14. This is a picture of our post game celebration. Like all good Bulldog fans, he threw a fit when someone tried to take his cowbell!

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!!!!

Our New Addition

We decided to join the SUV crowd. We test drove a Honda Pilot and loved the way it drove. So here is our 2005 silver Honda Pilot:

We have really enjoyed it these last few weeks. We really liked having it on our beach trip. We had plenty of room for all of our stuff.

Hayden's First Vacation

We spent the first day driving. Hayden even enjoyed getting a turn at the wheel. Don't worry we were parked at a rest stop. Hayden did really well on the way up and spent most of the time sleeping.
We stopped for dinner at Shotgun Dan's in Little Rock. The pizza was great! Makes my mouth water to think about it. We stayed in Conway Saturday night with some friends of Chris. They have a 10 month old so Hayden enjoyed playing with her. We spent Sunday visiting Chris' old territory in Conway and Little Rock. We spent Monday visiting with Chris' family in Jonesboro. We left Tuesday morning for St. Louis with Chris' parents. We went to Hayden's first Cardinals game. Let me point out that this was one of the hottest weeks of the year. Here's Hayden at the game. We were trying to get him to drink some juice/water.

These pictures were taken after the game when he was wound up. He loved the mirror in the hotel room. He even flexed his muscles in front of it.
Hayden enjoying his first bat from the game.
He even tried to do some plumbing after the game!
The next morning we decided to brave the heat and visit the zoo. Needless to say we weren't there too long. We had to see the elephants, monkeys, penguins, and giraffes. We didn't make it to the giraffes. This is Hayden viewing the elephants. He was hot and tired.
He really enjoyed the penguins, probably because it was really cold in there.
This is us at the front of the zoo. I believe Hayden is asleep.

Hayden enjoyed his first time in the pool. We couldn't really tell if he liked it or not. I think he was pretty worn out by this time.

Before we headed back to Jonesboro on Thursday we stopped by the children's museum. We didn't stay long because it was so crowded.

We left Jonesboro on Friday and headed towards Memphis for the weekend. We had a wonderful time with the Lowry's. They have a little girl Paige who is 13 months old and another one on the way (Congratulations!!). She is a little doll and Hayden had a lot of fun with her. Here's some pictures of them playing.

This is a funny picture of Hayden after his nap. I've never seen his hair so messed up. I couldn't stop laughing it was so cute.
We had a great vacation and I think Hayden fully enjoyed himself even though he didn't sleep much at night and it was really hot. Now we are looking forward to our next vacation to the beach in September!!

When it rains it pours

We got back from our vacation Sunday night and we were looking forward to a relaxing day on Monday but Monday was far from relaxing. Monday morning we finally decided to take the cats to the humane society. I really didn't want to even consider this option but we couldn't take the messes they left us anymore. After an extremly difficult good-bye Chris left with cats. I tried to busy myself so I wouldn't think about them. So I put the clothes in the dryer and sat down to read something. A few minutes later the dryer stopped so I was puzzled. I went to see what had happened and when I opened the dryer door I could smell something burning. This is not good. When Chris got back he tried to get it to work with no success. So we spent our nice relaxing day looking for a new dryer. We ended up finding a good deal on a front load washer and dryer. They were able to deliever today which is great since we have a these dirty clothes from our trip. The bright part of the whole day was Hayden. He has slept really well since we've been home and he's been extremely happy. I'll post about our trip when I have some time to sit and think straight.
